A local New Orleans artist, Tammy's first experience with photography was in 1975 while helping her mother complete a survey for Polaroid cameras. The 60 second print development to view her picture was instant gratification. From that moment, her love of photography began. 

In 1984,Tammy worked as a portrait photographer in a local family portrait business photographing children, high school seniors and families. 

In 1995, she went out on her own to start her own part-time photography business photographing children, families and preschools.

In 2006, post Katrina, it was time for a change. Tammy started photographing New Orleans, loving the energy as well as the architecture of the city. 

Tammy’s latest series,  “Mapping New Orleans, Gumbo Style”, utilizes her photographs of New Orleans through Photoshop. She layers from two to several of her photos to create one new image. Her photos are overlapped, dodged, lightened and enhanced to be worked into each other to create a new image, thus conveying a story that goes beyond what a single photo would tell. Through her work she hopes the world can see the beauty of this very unique and special city.
